Diego De La Garza

Treasurer

Diego de la Garza is the Director of Government and Community Relations for City of Hope, which is one of just a handful of Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the United States as designated by the National Cancer Institute, and a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network.


Prior to joining City of Hope in 2007, Diego spent three years as the Deputy Communications Director for Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez where he was in charge of the Los Angeles media market and statewide editorials. He also served as a Legislative Analyst for Governor Grey Davis and has worked on several local and statewide political campaigns.


Before moving to Los Angeles in 2000, Diego lived Washington D.C. working for Congressman Ciro Rodriguez and Ruben Hinojosa, each from South Texas.


Diego graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in English and was educated in public schools.
